| History Behind the Charm |

| Greenville isn’t known for alligators in the sewers or large rats but for bronze mice. For over 20 years Mice on Main has been a wonderful scavenger hunt for locals and visitors while walking downtown. The vision was brought to life in 2000 by Jim Ryan, a high school student inspired by Goodnight Moon, and Zan Wells, a local artist and sculptor who also made other notable Main Street statues such as Dick Riley, and Charles Townes, and Joel Poinsett. 

On Main Street, between Hyatt Regency and Westin Poinsett, you’ll find 9 mice sculptures scattered about. If you need help finding them you can find clues on visitgreenville.com.
